Monarch Butterfly Virtual Sightseeing Trip – Wild Ones Monthly Meeting

October 21, 2015 @ 6:45 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

David Thompson has been leading a monarch butterfly education project in Madison over the summer which culminated with several children raising monarchs from the egg or caterpillar stage and releasing them as butterflies in late summer.   Last winter, David visited two monarch butterfly winter refuges in Mexico and he will be presenting his photos and talking about his experience at the October meeting of the local Wild Ones chapter. Through his photos, experience the beauty of millions of butterflies, verdant mountains, and timeless villages. Take a virtual sightseeing trip to one of Mexico’s most beautiful provincial capitals. Find out about threats to monarchs in Mexico and the US. David will also share about how you can introduce children to monarchs in Madison next summer.Butterfly Roosting - DT
