DMNA Nature and Culture Trail Kickoff Event

Friends of Lake Wingra is pleased to be participating in the upcoming kickoff of the new Dudgeon Monroe Neighborhood Association Nature And Culture Trail.  This trail has been developed through work by the SW Path, Parks and Gardens and History Committees of DMNA and a grant received from City of Madison Planning.  The trail will be a physical connection among the multitude of natural, cultural and historical areas throughout the neighborhood and will include signage, brochures and podcasts for self guided tours.  The kickoff event will feature brief talks by Molly Murray, UW-Arboretum about the cultural history of the area, Kathy Miner about the natural history  and Ben Yahr from Friends of Lake Wingra will offer a watershed perspective.  The majority of the event will be focused on exploring the new trail.

Please come out on July 9th from 7-830pm and meet at the informational kiosk on the SW bikepath at Glenway Street.  Friday July 10th is a planned rain date.
