Stop the Garlic Mustard Invasion!

May 25, 2016 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Odana Native Plants 2016

Help us to combat the Garlic Mustard Invasion of the Odana Rain Garden and surrounding Odana Woods.  Friends and neighbors have been working in this area over the last few years to remove garlic mustard and other invasive plants.  Progress has been made and native plants are re-emerging!  Please help us continue our work to help promote native plants in this area near the SW Bike Path and Odana Golf Course Parking Lot.

Meet by the Friends of Lake Wingra kiosk visible from the rain garden at the south end of the Odana Golf Course Parking Lot.  We will meet Wednesday evenings in April and May from 530 – 7pm.  Feel free to come once or every time!  We will supply garbage bags and gloves.  Friends of Lake Wingra event leaders will be available to identify native plants in the area such as the Wild ginger and native ferns shown above.  Other native plants in the area include Virginia bluebells, trout lily, jack in the pulpit, prairie trillium, Gray dogwood, and many more.
